For those of you who don't know, I'm a huge baseball fan. I love playing and watching baseball (maybe not the Mariners, since they've been the worst team in baseball for about 10 years). The two teams that are in this World Series are the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and the Philadelphia Phillies. I personally want the Rays to win, since they are one of the yongest teams in baseball, and their payroll(the overall amount of money they pay their players) is like a fourth of the Phillies. I originally wanted the Red Sox to win, but they lost to the Rays. Dustin Pedroia, one of the players on the Red Sox, is a distant relative of mine. But Boston won the World Series last year, and the Rays have never won one, so this is a good opportunity for them. The first game of the World Series will start this Wednesday. I am very excited about this, and will be begging my parents to let me stay up past my bedtime to watch the game. The Rays have had like the worst record in baseball behind the Mariners for along time, but they finally got good. The key players on the Rays are B.J. Upton, Carl Crawford, Evan Longoria, and Scott Kazmir. The Phillies have Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley. The Phillies have a more rounded team than the Rays, but I guess you could say that the Rays have better players. So, if you're a baseball fan, be sure to watch the World Series!
